We held their first service at No. 15 Jalan Railway 1/2 Petaling Jaya, Old Town.
Easter Sunrise Prayer Gathering at BethEL
Before sunrise on the eve of Easter, the fellowship gathered at the roof top at BethEL and prayed that BethEL will truly be the House of God and impact the nation, starting with our community. We are thankful to Mr. Michael Gomez, for so generously allowing us to use the roof top of his office, to hold this beautiful event. Keith Ganesan, Caroline and Michael spoke and shared their testimonies as well. The congregation took turns to pray and took the time to give thanks and remember that Jesus died for our sins, and He rose again on the third day, in forgiveness for our sins. The congregation then fellowshipped together till sunrise.
Bethel's Dedication
BethEL was officially dedicated on 21 September 2014 at the 10.10am service. To answer why and how BethEL started, Pastor Jerry shared on the events and miracles that took place and the guidance and direction of God for him to start BethEL. A riveting testimony that you can now watch and listen to on the website.
During the Event
Pastor Yvonne, Steven Ganeshvaran and Yvonne Ganeshvaran shared their journey and a word of encouragement and blessing. Rev. Dr. Henry Pillai shared a word on the Christian’s role and God in the community. He then prayed over and dedicated the Bethel elders and points persons.
Official Lauch of BCC (BethEL Community Centre)
BCC was officially launched at 12 noon by Rev. Dr. Henry Pillai. The event was attended by Puan Ana Gella Rishyakaran (representing YB Rajiv Rishyakaran, ADUN for Bukit Gasing) and Tuan Ahmad the OCS for Petaling Jaya, as well Dr A.S. Malar and Mr Sashi Kumar, President and Vice President (and co-founders) of TECH Outreach, Ms Sharmila Sekaran, Founder and Co-Chair of VoC (Voice of the Children), Mr Edwin Marsden, President of ICM (International Christian Mission), Mr Pannir, member of the Board of GCS (Grace Community Services) and Rev Dr Robert Judah Paul, President and Founder of GSM (Global Street Mission), Datin Yvonne Raj, Founder of WWWW (What We Women Want) and more than 200 over well-wishers and friends of BCC (BethEL Community Centre).
Easter Service & Bethel’s First Year Anniversary
Easter service was held, and Bethel’s first year anniversary was celebrated on the same day. It was also the last service which was to be held at No. 15 Jalan Railway 1/2 Petaling Jaya, Old Town, before moving to the new location, and conducting our weekly services and events. After service, Mr. Allan Perera and Michael Gomez then treated all who came for the fellowship, to a scrumptious steamboat lunch followed by tasty cake served by Bethel, as it was in conjunction with Easter Sunday, Bethel’s first year anniversary, and the last service to be held at No. 15 Jalan Railway.
Launch of Bethel's New Centre
BethEL moved from No. 15 Jalan Railway 1/2 Petaling Jaya, Old Town, to No. 33A, 4/47, Section 4, Petaling Jaya. The opening of the new location began with service, which was conducted with much gusto and anticipation, and worship was led by Pastor Jerry and the worship team. Many well-wishers made it a point to attend this celebration; the beginning of a new season, as prophesied by Rev Zack Cherian, a man of God, who shared in BethEL on the 20 February 2014.
Begin of A New Season
Among the many well-wishers were Rev. Dr. Henry Pillai and his wife Sister Jasbeer, YB Tuan Rajiv, and many more who graced the occasion. We were honoured to have Rev. Dr. Henry Pillai, the senior pastor of Grace Assembly and also Pastor Jerry’s spiritual father, who had conducted the dedication of the leaders, at the launching of the new centre. BethEL then provided finger food and refreshments, for all the attendants, who then, spent time and fellowshipped with one another. The BethEL inaugural magazine was also launched and distributed on this memorable occasion.
BethEL Melbourne is Established
God called Pastors Jerry and Yvonne to begin a mission in Melbourne, Australia, reaching out to the homeless and destitute in the city. The vision was to create a welcoming space where individuals can experience God’s love, worship freely, and hear His Word. Along with warm meals, coffee, and essential supplies like blankets and water, this ministry provided comfort, hope, and practical support to those in need, reflecting Christ’s compassion and care.
BethEL Fellowship ended their Journey
At the end of 2017, the church concluded its journey, holding its final service after Christmas. It was a heartfelt farewell to members and friends who had become like family. However, BethEL Community Centre continued steadfastly in its mission, remaining a beacon of hope and support for the poor and destitute in the community.
God Brought Us Back to the Place we Belong - BethEL Malaysia is Reborn
In obedience to God's call, Pastor Jerry relaunched Bethel Malaysia without delay. On December 17, 2023, the church celebrated its official re-opening with Minister Mentor Rev. Dr. Henry Pillai and esteemed guests Rev. Dr. Edmound Teo, Rev. Dr. Eu Hong Seng, and Rev. Raymond Mooi. Distinguished marketplace leaders, including Dato’ Dr. Cyrus Das, Datin Elsie Das, Gregory Das, Mr Edwin Marsden, Mr David Peter, and Ms Sharmila Sekerann, also joined the celebration. The BethEL Family reunited, marking a joyful new beginning.
