The Bethel team is glad to announce that we have joined hands with another charitable organization, the MMK (Migrant Ministry Klang) Malaysia headed by Mr Andrew Ng. This organization focuses on addressing the problem of ‘stateless children’ who do not have essential documentation such as birth certificates either because they were simply never registered or because they are migrant or refugee children fleeing persecution or economic struggles in their country of origin. Without these basic documents, they are refused entry into schools, government departments and even hospitals.

In mid-2014, the Bethel team decided to partner with GSM (Global Street Missions) in their annual Christmas Party for the homeless at Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur. This annual event is part of the GSM (Global Street Missions) ‘Street Outreach Ministry’ which specifically targets those marginalized in society, namely, the homeless street people. Some of the ways GSM (Global Street Missions) reach out to these street people are through feeding programs and by providing shelter. They aim to address not only the physical health of the homeless, but more importantly, their mental and emotional health.

On 12 April 2014, the Bethel-Door of Hope Counselling Centre was launched at 33A Jalan 4/47, Section 4 Petaling Jaya.
Door of Hope is an NGO founded by Daniel Lee who worked for many years with Malaysia Care in its work amongst prisoners and drug rehabilitation centres. Daniel is a registered counsellor with the government.

What an amazing day! God’s presence was at Beth EL from beginning to end and continues on…. Country gospel music played in the background from 9.30 am and at 10.10 am Jerry greeted everyone and shared briefly how Beth EL started and thanked all those who made it possible. Eve then brought greetings from the all the elders and went through the website and read out what Beth EL is about and what God has placed on our hearts to do.
